Introducing a New Treatment for Dry Macular Degeneration
“Many of our patients with dry macular degeneration have asked whether there are additional treatment options. We are pleased to offer Valeda light treatment, an office-based treatment that may help selected patients with dry AMD.
Valeda is not appropriate for everyone. If you have intermediate dry AMD, we can review your retinal findings, your overall eye health, and whether this option may be relevant for you.”
Who may benefit?
Selected patients with intermediate dry AMD may be candidates after examination and testing
What is involved?
A series of short in-office light-treatment visits without drops or dilation
Medicare Coverage
Valeda PBM may be covered by Medicare for eligible patients. We will verify your individual benefits and review any anticipated financial responsibility before treatment
For many years, the options for dry macular degeneration were limited largely to AREDS2 vitamins. Valeda represents an important new development: a treatment supported by clinical studies and authorized for selected patients with dry AMD. It may offer a meaningful additional option for patients who want to take a more active role in managing their macular degeneration.
